As of February 20th 2017, after 16 months of production, Girl on Wave is at picture lock. The coloring and audio mixing has started and the first screening will take place on Maui in April (final date to be confirmed soon). For the producers Steven Esparza and Sarah Hauser, it means a lot to show the film for the first time on Maui, where most of it was filmed and where the idea of Girl on Wave was born.
We are so grateful for the support GoPro has given to the "Girl on Wave" movie. In 2016 Sarah Hauser became an ambassador and a part of the GoPro family. As a result the Girl on Wave production was supplied with products and support from the amazing people at GoPro. Soon there will be a showing of the film to the staff at the corporate offices in Carlsbad CA.
Girl on Wave producer Steven Esparza and Sarah Hauser were invited to the Sonoran Living TV show this morning in Phoenix. A great opportunity to talk about windsurfing casually with the beautiful Terri Ouellete !
After Fox10, it is now on ABC Arizona who came to interview Sarah. "Girl on Wave" was in the News this morning on channel 15 in Arizona!
The Girl on Wave media tour continues in Phoenix with the interview of Sarah for Fox News on channel 10. Recorded in the Echo House Films studio this morning, the interview was broad-casted at 9:30pm and is now on Internet: www.fox10phoenix.com/news/arizona-news/56535816-story
Sarah was invited to do an interview in the KUPD Radio studio to talk about her sport and the movie Girl on Wave. What a cool experience for her to share her passion with Fitz on air. We hope the audience enjoyed it too!
With 3 victories in Santa Cruz, California (June 2015), Pistol River, Oregon (June 2015), Baja, Mexico (August 2015) and a 4th place at the Nove Nove Aloha Classic (http://www.alohaclassicmaui.com) on Maui, Sarah becomes the 2015 American champion!!! “I am really happy about this result! I can’t believe that, only 3 years ago, I was just starting to compete on the American Windsurfing Tour”.
The Nove Nove Aloha Classic was the last stop of the PWA World Tour and the American Windsurfing Tour.
This was Sarah’s second time competing on a world tour event since October 2014 when she ranked 9th. This year she makes it to 4th place, really happy about this improvement. The level of the competitors was really high with the best female windsurfers in the world all gathered for this competition which took place at Ho’okipa in tricky conditions with light winds and big waves!
The day before the beginning of the Nove Nove Aloha Classic the first big winter swell hit Hawaii and Sarah got to windsurf at Jaws for the second time in her life since April 2013. Usually it is rare to have the right wind & wave conditions and get a seat on a ski. But this time everything came up perfectly! Special thank you to Kai Katchadourian for making it possible.
